Reese Christensen has worked in the photographic industry for 47 years. He is familiar with both film and digital photography. Reese is a professional photographer operating his own business in addition to teaching digital photography and Adobe Photoshop at UVU.
Reese has served on the Board of Directors and as President of the Intermountain Professional Photographers Association and earned his Associate and Fellow Degree from the IPPA. He has entered and judged many of the Professional Photographers of America print competitions and won a number of awards. He also received the prestigious National Award presented by the Professional Photographers of America. He also earned the Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) distinction from Professional Photographers of America.
Reese specializes in individual portraits, family portraits, corporate portraiture and high school seniors. He has taught photography to several of his employees over the years and helped them start their own studios. He teaches as a lecturer in high schools and to other interested groups throughout the community helping them learn the art of Photography. He is on the board of the Alpine School District Arts Council.
Reese has taught retouching both on film and digital using state-of-the-art image editing software and is expert in the art of retouching. He does retouching and finish work for a number of studios in the state and around the country. He teaches many classes and workshops locally and around the country.
Reese currently teaches at Utah Valley University. He has been on staff there since 2009. He teaches the Digital Photography and Photoshop & Compositing classes. In 2015 Reese was presented the prestigious award of Adjunct Professor of the Year at Utah Valley University.
Reese lives in Orem, Utah but his work still takes him out of state for photographic work. He has four children and loves to spend time with them. He can’t wait to get up in the morning to go to work, either doing photography or teaching.
